Mr Michael Griffin AM is the Integrity Commissioner and head of the Australian Commission for Law Enforcement Integrity. His appointment commenced on 19 January 2015.
Mr Griffin served in the Australian Regular Army between 1975 and 1997, and again between 2013 and 2015, reaching the rank of Brigadier. From 1997 until 2013 he was a solicitor with the Sydney law firm of Spooner and Hall and has held a range of senior positions dealing with integrity, governance and criminal investigation.
Between 2012 and 2013, Mr Griffin was an Examiner in the Australian Crime Commission. Immediately prior to his appointment as Integrity Commissioner, he was Director of Military Prosecutions in the Department of Defence.
In 1988, Mr Griffin was admitted as a Solicitor and Barrister of the Supreme Court of New South Wales.
Mr Griffin was appointed a Member of the Order of Australia in 2009 for his service to administrative law.
