Ms Jaala Hinchcliffe Integrity Commissioner
Ms Jaala Hinchcliffe is the Integrity Commissioner and head of the Australian Commission for Law Enforcement Integrity (ACLEI). Her appointment commenced on 10 February 2020.
Immediately prior to her appointment as Integrity Commissioner, Ms Hinchcliffe was the Deputy Commonwealth Ombudsman, an appointment she held from 2017. Prior to her role as Deputy Ombudsman, Ms Hinchcliffe worked at the Australian Parliament House with the Department of Parliamentary Services.
Ms Hinchcliffe spent a significant portion of her career with the Commonwealth Director of Public Prosecutions where, for 15 years, she worked across a range of legal functions, including as Senior Executive for Law Reform, and Policy and Strategic Review and Reform.
Ms Hinchcliffe has been engaged in a number of community organisations in the ACT. She is currently on the National Executive of the Australian Institute of Administrative Law. She studied Arts and Law at the Australian National University and was admitted to practice as a Legal Practitioner in 2000.
