Operation Denmark considered an allegation that a staff member at the Department of Home Affairs misused their Commonwealth credit card (CCC) by making personal purchases with it. The investigation identified that the staff member made 59 unauthorised transactions with their CCC for personal expenditures totalling $1,578. They pleaded guilty to one offence under the Criminal Code (Cth). At sentence, the staff member was discharged without proceeding to conviction upon giving recognizance of $1,500 and being of good behaviour for 12 months. The Integrity Commissioner did not make a corruption finding against the staff member in consideration of the circumstances of the matter.
