Operation Fortescue resulted in the Integrity Commissioner commencing an own-initiative investigation, Operation Drysdale. Operation Drysdale involved an in depth examination of the TRS system and sought to identify whether other ABF officers engaged in conduct similar to that found in Operation Fortescue. It also sought to identify any corruption risks associated with the TRS to prevent potential corrupt conduct. The investigation identified one additional instance of suspicious TRS processing activity that was referred to Home Affairs for further investigation. The investigation did not identify systemic corruption.
