Operation Angove investigated possible corruption issues concerning interactions between Home Affairs and the ABF with Crown Melbourne Limited and their VIPs who travelled to Australia to gamble in their facilities. No corrupt conduct was found.
An investigation into an allegation that a Home Affairs staff member was assisting with the importation of drugs. The allegation was not substantiated but it was found that the staff member engaged in corrupt conduct by disclosing protected information.
A joint ACLEI, AFP and Home Affairs investigation found that an ABF officer had engaged in corrupt conduct by receiving a bribe and aided and abetted a criminal syndicate in the importation of illicit tobacco products.
